George Thomas Adams
September 16, 1916 - July 24, 2008
George Thomas Adams, 91, died July 24, 2008 at Savannah Cottage. He was born in Montgomery County, Georgia son of the late Lanier Scott Adams and Mary Jane Clements Adams. He was reared in Montgomery County and moved to Savannah in 1953. Mr. Adams was a ship builder and worked for Diamond Construction for over 21 years. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Adams.
Surviving are his wife, Arlene Davis Adams of Savannah; daughter, Claudette Adams Stroud of Savannah; grandchildren, Teresa Rawlinson and her husband, Jon of Savannah; Cindy Miles of Savannah; Melinda Hajost and her husband, Dale of Atlanta; great grandchildren, Amanda, Patrick and Donnie Miles all of Savannah; Caroline and Jay Hajost of Atlanta; daughter-in-law, Brenda Adams of Rincon and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2008 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008 in the Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with Reverend Steve Meguiar, officiating.
Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
